Updated September 12, 2026. The Mario Kart World Open September 2026 is the first qualifier for Nintendo’s Fall Cup, giving eligible racers a path to the December championship and 50 My Nintendo Platinum Points simply for participating. The event runs September 19–20 on Nintendo Switch 2.

Mario Kart World Open September 2026 Date and Time
The qualifier begins Saturday, September 19, at 2:00 p.m. PT and ends Sunday, September 20, at 6:00 p.m. PT. You can race at any point during that window, but each player can complete no more than 32 races.
How to Enter with Event ID 7943
- Launch Mario Kart World on Nintendo Switch 2.
- Select Online Play.
- Press the – Button to search for an event.
- Enter the four-digit Event ID 7943.
- Join during the official event window and complete at least one race.
A Nintendo Account, reliable internet connection and Nintendo Switch Online membership are required. An eligible free trial membership can be used, but standard trial renewal terms apply.
Mario Kart World Open September 2026: 7 Essential Rules
- VS Race mode: The qualifier uses standard VS Race competition.
- 150cc class: All races run at the faster 150cc speed.
- No teams: Every participant competes individually.
- Normal items: Standard item distribution is active.
- No computer racers: COM difficulty is set to No COM.
- Connected courses: Course selection follows the Connected setting.
- Maximum 32 races: Only your allowed event races count toward qualification.
Who Can Participate?
Entrants must be legal residents of the 50 United States including Washington, D.C., Canada or Mexico and must be physically located in an eligible territory while playing. Participants in the United States and Canada must be at least 13 years old; Mexican participants must be at least 18.
You also need legal access to a Nintendo Switch 2 console, Mario Kart World, a Nintendo Account, Nintendo Switch Online and a stable high-speed connection. Review the complete official rules before entering because additional restrictions apply.
How Fall Cup Qualification Works
The Fall Cup includes three monthly qualifiers followed by a championship. The top 24 players from each qualifying event receive the opportunity to compete in the December final.

- Championship: December 12
Skill determines the winners. Nintendo says potential qualifiers will be contacted after each event, so make sure the email attached to your Nintendo Account is current.
Participation Reward: 50 Platinum Points
Eligible participants in North and South America can claim 50 My Nintendo Platinum Points. Nintendo expects the points to become available on the Missions page on or around September 29, 2026 PT. Participating account information—including username, player icon and score—may appear publicly on the results page.
Fall Cup Championship Prizes
The championship prize packages include trophies for the top three finishers, NintendoVS backpacks and Mario Kart World decorative patches. Twenty-one additional prize winners receive a backpack and patch set. The official rules list a total approximate retail value of $1,613.76 across all 24 packages.
How to Prepare Before September 19
Install the latest Mario Kart World software update, verify your Nintendo Switch Online membership and test your connection. Practice 150cc races with normal items and no computer opponents. Because course selection is Connected, learn transitions between locations rather than focusing only on isolated circuit laps.
Version 1.8.0 recently added ten SNES layouts and two Knockout Tour rallies, so update the game early to avoid missing the event window. Every player needs the same current software version for online play.
